It lends itself well to creative additions, too. I played around by adding a teaspoon of capers, lemon juice, a bit of zaatar seasoning. Sundried tomatoes would be fun, too.

I enjoyed it with thin cut carrots and a toasted pita.

A snack both the kids and grown ups enjoy, and great on whatever we have around– pita chips, bread, veggies. If we don’t already have it in the fridge, we definitely have all the ingredients in the pantry!

Overall delicious, though, with toasted pita and raw veggies. I had no basil so instead I sprinkled it with a little Tajín Mexican seasoning (dried chili peppers, dehydrated lime juice, and sea salt) which was a nice bit of zest.

I was looking for a similar recipe from Trader Joe’s I used years ago. Yours adds olive oil and garlic, both great additions. To me, this dip cries out for rosemary. Instead of adding it, I passed on the basil and served it with rosemary crackers. Delish and super easy! Thanks:)
