Never have I ever…made popcorn without burning some kernels or leaving 1/4 of the kernels unpopped! This worked like a charm! I kept the heat at a medium and had patience for the popcorn to begin popping. I guess i didn’t have patience before and I believed the longer the kernels are in the pot, the higher the chance of them burning. And the kernels are so crispy! Letting the steam escape is key. Thank you for sharing this method!

I normally make popcorn in the hot air popper, that pour thing is getting put away in the cabinet. We both loved this stovetop popcorn and I am making this at least once a week now.

I’ve been making stove top popcorn for decades (about 5 of them), couple of times a month. I never had more than half of the kernels pop. I always grumble about cheap popcorn, because of course it must be the popcorn and not me that was the problem. I’m not sure why, but I always thought the oil/pan should be super hot before adding the kernels. Following your instructions, 99% popped!! and…..NO BURNED PIECES ON THE BOTTOM OF THE PAN!!! I guess this proves you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Thanks so much for sharing your methodology!! I can’t wait to try it with the coconut oil. But then, that will be a few days…because I have a full pot to eat!

Nearly perfect first time around, but perhaps I had my oil on a bit too high (was on 6 out of 9 on an electric stove top, will try again on 5) so I lost a few kernels but most popped. Seasoned it with salt & thyme and had it for dinner instead of rice!

I like “Bob’s Red Mills” organic popcorn. Nice large kernels and very few unpopped. I use lard, bacon grease (delicious), or sometimes extra virgin olive oil.
